Three of the Republican presidential candidates appeared at a rally Saturday night in Des Moines, promising to end abortion and fight pornography. Steve Forbes and Gary Bauer were well-received by the crowd, but it was Alan Keyes who won the warmest crowd reception. Keyes, the former United Nations Ambassador and talk show host, didn’t wow the crowd with his ususal message. Instead, he challenged them not to vote for the front-runner, George W. Bush. He said voters wont’t succeed by voting for second best.Forbes focused most of his speech on his commitment to appoint Supreme Court Justices who will over-turn the decision which made abortion legal.Gary Bauer also promised to appoint Justices who will over-turn Roe v. Wade.
