The re-trial of a Des Moines mother accused of murder is being moved to Davenport due to publicity. 39-year-old Heidi Anfinson is accused of drowning her two-week-old son. The infant’s body was found in September of 1998 beneath the waters of Saylorville Lake, held down by rocks. Anfinson claimed baby Jason drown in the bathtub while she was out smoking a cigarette & that she panicked & tried to hide his body. She later led police to it. Her first trial ended in a hung jury last year as one juror wouldn’t vote to convict. Anfinson’s lawyers say the case got such extensive coverage in Des Moines, she couldn’t get another fair trial here. It opens in Davenport February 7th.
