The state of Iowa is suing Publishers Clearing House seeking information on the way the company solicits Iowans. Attorney General Tom Miller says the company hasn’t been willing to give out information for a state investigation. Miller says they feel the company has mislead Iowans into spending money on magazine subcriptions to win the company’s sweepstakes.He says they’re also concerned the company is targeting elderly Iowans and that Publishers Clearinghouse is exagerating the chances of winning a big prize. Miller says they’ve asked the judge to make the company turn over the information in 30 days.If the state finds out it concerns about Publishers Clearing House are true, the state would then file a lawsuit against the company seeking retribution. Miller says they’ve asked the Polk County judge to bar Publishers Clearing House from doing business in Iowa if they fail to provide the information.
