The Iowa Hawkeyes bagged another upset Wednesday downing fifth ranked Ohio State in Columbus 67-64. Kyle Galloway hit a three-pointer off a no-look pass from Dean Oliver with three-point-three seconds left to give the Hawks the lead. A three point attempt by the Buckeyes missed at the buzzer. Coach Steve Alford experienced the high of the upset which comes on the heels of a 26-point loss to Purdue.Last night’s upset goes along with big wins already this season over U-Conn and Kansas. Iowa had a 15-point lead early in the second half, but Ohio State roared back to tie it up. Oliver led the Hawkeyes with 21 points, Kyle Galloway hit for 12 points including three of four from three point range. Rob Griffen came off the bench to hit 10 points. Alford says Oliver’s play was key offensively and defensively. Dean Oliver said they knew Ohio State would make a run late, but said he wasn’t worried the Hawks would lose the game. Iowa is now 11-11 on the season and 4-6 in the Big Ten. They play at Illinois Saturday.
