Separate bills are making their way through the Iowa House and Senate that look to make changes in the way information on child abuse cases is handled by the state. The bills come in the wake of death of an abused Spirit Lake toddler. Tipton Republican Dan Boddicker is the chair of the Human Resources Committee, which is working on the bill in the house.Boddicker says the house bill would give people an option if they were unhappy with the way their case is being handled.Boddicker says there would still be restrictions on letting lawmakers view confidential files. The bill in the Senate would let every lawmaker have access to the information.
