Actor Dick Van Dyke has bowed out of June’s North Iowa Band Festival in Mason City. Karl Miller, a spokesman for the Mason City Foundation, says Van Dyke is pulling out for health reasons.Miller says they’re looking for someone to fill Van Dyke’s spot as grand marshal of the parade & as the main entertainer for the event. He says Van Dyke’s health is not in serious jeopardy.Van Dyke played professor Harold Hill in Broadway performances of Mason City native Meredith Willson’s musical “The Music Man.” Van Dyke had returned to Greenfield, Iowa, in September for the 30th anniversary of the movie “Cold Turkey.”
