The Iowa Conference basketball tournament opens tonight with quarterfinal round games. ON the women’s side, Simpson enters as the top seed and will host Upper Iowa. Normally a one-seed against an eight-seed is a mismatch but not this one. Upper Iowa split two games with Simpson, including a 16-point victory in Fayette.That’s Simpson coach Brian Niemuth who says pushing the tempo against Upper Iowa is a must.Niemuth says nobody can afford to get caught looking ahead in the tournament.
