"Million Paw March" hits statehouse

Over two-hundred animal lovers lobbied legislators yesterday, urging tougher penalties for animal abusers. A bill is pending in the Iowa Senate which would increase penalties and fines for torturing animals. Peggy Sullivan of West Des Moines was there. She says animals are mistreated and have no voice.Max Bridgewater of Des Moines is a social worker who says research showsmany of those who abuse animals eventually abuse people, too.Organizers of the event called it the “Million Paw March.”
