Iowa State hosts Oklahoma State Saturday in a fight for the Big Twelve Conference lead. Both teams are 11-2 in conference play and while the Cyclones are considered one of the country’s surprise teams this season, coach Larry Eustachy felt the cowboys were the favorite heading into the season. The Cyclones will be without reserve center Paul Shirley who broke his foot in the victory over Texas Tuesday. The loss of Shirley cuts down what is already a thin bench for ISU. Eustachy though says he is ready to meet the challenge. ISU’s Marcus Fizer says the team is also anxious to play the Cowboys.Fizer is the leading scorer in the league, averaging 21-point-seven points a game.
