The Iowa Senate has voted to force all Iowa children to be immunized against dangerous diseases. Senator John Redwine, a republican from Sioux City, is a doctor who says it’s time to end religious exemptions from required vaccinations. He says Iowa is 19th among states for the number of fully immunized children.Senator Maggie Tinsman, a republican from Davenport, said some Iowans have a legitimate religious objection to vaccinations for their children.Dr. Stephen Gleason, Iowa’s top public health official, says he will not take a position on the flap, which may next be debated in the Iowa House.
