Governor Tom Vilsack is raising red flags about Republican budget plans for state agencies. Republicans who control the legislature and the Democrat Governor are working on a state budget which spends over five BILLION dollars — and the two sides are only a few million dollars apart, according to Vilsack.Republicans defend their budget outline — saying it’s a philosophical clash with a democrat Governor who wants to over-spend. Vilsack says he wants to ensure priority areas get spending increases. For example, Vilsack says Republicans won’t dedicate enough money to hire inspectors to check out the state’s restaurants.
