The Iowa state women opened the midwest regional with a 92-63 victory over St. Francis of Pennsylvania. Cyclone coach Bill Fennelly said they played well offensively, but didn’t give their best effort defensively. Fennelly says while the defense wasn’t that great the result was, as they outscored the Red Flash to get the win and play Illinois Sunday. Iowa State canned 15-three pointers.
