The Iowa Barnstormers opened training camp this week in preparation for the Arena Football League season. Iowa coach John Gregory has an expereinced team back from last year’s that fell a game shy of an appearance in the Arena Bowl and Gregory admits expectations are high.Gregory says the experience has been evident the first couple of days of practice as players have come in ready to go.Gregory says there were areas the Barnstormers looked to bolster in the off season. He says they’ve done that with the offensive and defensive line and the receivers.Quarterback Aaron Garcia says with so many familiar faces, the pre-season workouts are geared toward getting ready for the regular season.Garcia says while the Barnstormers accomplished a lot last year, the loss in the semifinal round left an empty feeling.
