A 173-thousand dollar federal grant will help Iowa keep better traffic records. Sandy Bennett, of the Iowa Department of Public Safety, says the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau will use the funds to help with improvements to the system.Bennett says Iowa is recognized as a national model in keeping traffic records, and that’s why they’re getting the grant.Bennett says it’s important to keep the records system up to date to save Iowans money. The grant was awarded by the U-S Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
