An eastern Iowa man who intentionally drove his racecar into another car in Vinton last year has been sentenced to five years in prison.41-year old David Dains of Marengo was also fined 750 dollars and ordered to pay nearly five-thousand dollars in restitution to pit crew member Shawn Kibe. Dains apparently became angry with another race car driver during a race at the Benton County raceway last July. Dains crashed his car into the other man’s car after the race. Kibe has filed a civil suit against Daines. Daines says he’ll appeal the sentence.
