After enduring layoffs and several shut downs, things are turning around at the John Deere Waterloo tractor works. Deere spokesman Ken Golden says workers have been told to expect plenty of hours.Golden says the turnaround isn’t surprising as they projected that business would turn around in 2000.While demand for Deere tractors is increasing, Golden says that’s not a signal that agriculture is back on track. He says the Ag economy will be donw 5 to 10 percent for the industry overall. They’re back to a full workforce in Waterloo as all those who’re eligible to be called back are now working. And Golden says they could add another 50 jobs.
