Iowa’s Attorney General is promoting an Internet project designed to teach teenagers how to be smart consumers. Debra Moore, the Consumer Education Coordinator for the A-G’s Office, says the project is called “Tuff Customer.”The site features an Internet scavenger hunt where kids can hunt down consumer information on the “web”. Moore says the site is targeted at students in junior and senior high school. She says kids may know how to cruise the Internet like a pro, but may lack the skills to make a good decision when it comes to making a purchase.Teachers across the state have been sent information on the Tuff Customer site. Moore says you can also access the site through a link on the Attorney General’s web page.To access the A-G’s web page, go to the State of Iowa homepage at: www.state.ia.us. Then follow the links to the Attorney General’s page.
