U-S Postal Service officials in Waterloo have taken drastic measures in one east side neighborhood after repeated dog attacks on letter carriers. A drop box site is being set up where residents can pick-up their own mail. Leon Mosley, a member of the Black Hawk County board of supervisors, says the dogs are being used by drug dealers in the neighborhood for protection. Mosley says residents are upset with the decision as they feel they’re being unfairly penalized.Postal Delivery Supervisor Craig Goetsch says they could do the same thing in other areas if they can’t get the dog problem under control. The latest attack on a carrier happened Monday.
