A plane made an emergency landing this morning on a road near Pella. Pilot Larry Chapman of Avoca landed the plane safely on a county road, then taxied the aircraft to Pella’s airport. Marion County authorities had been warned by Des Moines airport officials that Chapman’s plane would try an emergency landing. The plane was not damaged in the landing.
