He says those are serious details that need to be worked out.Des Moines attorney Mike Huston formally announced his candidacy today at stops in Des Moines and Council Bluffs. Huston is a fourth generation Iowan and life-long democrat.Republicans have held majority control of Congress for the past six years. He says Ganske has also failed to get Iowa equity in Medicare reimbursement.During his formal speech, Huston acknowledged he’s a recovering alcoholic. He says his treatment 20 years ago save his life and substance abuse, education, prevention and treatment is his personal crusade.Huston says his chances of unseating Ganske are enhanced because all statewide democrat candidates carried the fourth district in the last election.Huston has never run for elected office before.
