The black University of Iowa dental student accused of making racial threats has been released. 23-year-old Tarsha Claiborne has been undergoing psychiatric tests at the U-of-I hospitals for two weeks. A judge signed a release order yesterday & will allow her to return to her home state of Louisiana. Claiborne is accused of making various threats, some over e-mail, that forced the temporary closing of the dental school. She will have to return to Iowa for her court appearance & is forbidden from having any contact with anyone at the U-of-I.
