A federal project that is designed to improve the quality and quantity of water in parts of northwest Iowa passed a House committee Wednesday. Iowa Congressman Tom Latham says the Lewis and Clark Rural Water Project would target 14 counties along the borders of Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota.The rural water project could cost 283-million dollars, which Latham says will be looked at closely when the full House takes up the measure.Latham says the water project may go to a vote of the full House in a few weeks. Iowa towns involved would include: Boyden, Hull, Sheldon, Sibley and Sioux Center.
