The Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs will have to pay a state fine for allowing an underage gambler aboard the boat. The State Racing and Gaming Commission issued the fine at its meeting Thursday in Bettendorf. Bill Hansen is the chair of the commission. He says The casino will pay a 10-thousand dollar fine for allowing the teenager on the boat. Hansen says he is confident this is an isolated case.Hansen says the incident happened earlier this year while the boat was being renovated and the regular entrance was not opened. Hansen says the casino managers say they’ve learned from the incident and would do things differently the next time. On another issue, a man concerned with the turnover of employees at the new Lakeside Casino Resort in Osceola spoke to the Commission Thursday. Hansen says the commission has asked staff to look into the problem, but says it is a labor dispute and the board has no jurisdiction unless it hampers the operation of the boat.
