Council Bluffs gets new Police Chief

Council Bluffs Mayor Tom Hanifan has named Captain Keith Mehlin (may-linn) as the city’s new police chief. Mehlin has been serving as acting chief the past several months and Hanifan says his recommendation needs final approval from the Council Bluffs city council. Mehlin is a 25-year veteran of the force and has supported the concept of community policing.
