A Des Moines man arrested in 1997 for drunk driving is under investigation for his role in the weekend crash which killed a pro-basketball player in Minnesota. Minnesota State Patrolmen hope to talk today with the 43-year-old Des Moines man who survived the Saturday morning crash that killed Malik (muh-LEEK’) Sealy, a guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Des Moines man was driving the wrong way on a divided highway west of the Twin Cities when he rammed Sealy’s sport utility vehicle head-on. Fans have placed flowers on the sidewalk in front of the Target Center where Sealy played for two seasons. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt. Investigators on the accident scene took blood samples from the Des Moines man to check for alcohol.
