Money made available for soybean producers

Some 80-thousand Iowa soybean producers will be getting a boost from Uncle Sam. The U-S-D-A has approved payments of 75-million dollars that will go to Iowa growers who are suffering from the lacking farm economy.Senator Chuck Grassley says this payment aims to bring balance between the money paid to soybean and corn producers. He says corn growers were paid 35-cents a bushel last year, a sum that was doubled during the worst of the commodities crunch.The soybean payments work out to an average of 937-dollars per Iowa farmer. In a news release, Senator Tom Harkin said “with the current conditions in agriculture, every little bit helps when it comes to paying bills and covering the costs of keeping a farm running.”
