Governor Tom Vilsack scoffs at a lawsuit being filed to challenge his pro-gay executive order as “politically motivated.” Senate Republican Leader Stewart Iverson of Dows says Vilsack exceeded his authority by barring discrimination against state workers who are gay or “trans-gender.” At his weekly news conference this morning, Vilsack initially refused to comment on the lawsuit. When pressed, Vilsack offered a terse response, saying “there’s nothing to talk about.” Republicans intend to use the issue in the fall campaign against democrats in the legislature who supported Vilsack’s “gay rights” executive order.
