Children from across Iowa who suffer from various lung diseases will gather Sunday for the start of the weeklong Camp Superkids in Boone. It offers traditional camping activities in addition to educational sessions so the youngsters can learn about managing their lung diseases. Tracey Breckenridge, spokeswoman for the American Lung Association of Iowa, says most of the 200 young campers have asthma. The camp runs June 18th through the 23rd at the YMCA camp in Boone. Many of the campers are getting financial support to attend Camp Superkids thanks to various Lung Association fundraisers.
