A conference in Des Moines today seeks to share ideas on how Iowa can improve the worth of the commodities produced in the state. It’s what’s known as “adding value” to products. The Iowa Farm Bureau is one of the event sponsors. Bureau spokesman Denny Harding says the conference will include producers and sellers.Harding says there’ll be a lot of sharing of ideas.in several sessions where people talk about their experiences with adding value to their commodities.Harding says the conference represents a unique sharing of experiences, as people with new ideas often keep them to themselves so they don’t foster competition.The conference called “Farms, Food and the Future” runs all day today at the Polk County Convention Complex.
