Authorities have filed first-degree murder, attempted murder and first-degree kidnapping charges against the man accused of shooting two women in Grundy County last Monday. 33-year old David Lenox is being held on a million dollars bond on each charge. Lenox is accused of killing Ruth Melver by shooting her twice in the head at her farmhouse near Conrad on June 19th. He’s also accused of trying to kill Deanna Tough and kidnapping a 16-year old girl. Lenox was captured after leading police on a chase that ended in a crash on Interstate-35 near Ellsworth. Lenox will be arraigned July 17th. The charges carry a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
