Iowans who enjoy having fun under the sun might be interested in getting a little more sun today. This is National Nude Day, rounding out National Nude Recreation Week.Carol Morrison runs the Chicago Sun Club, which she says lures many Iowans into going without clothes. She says there are no longer any large, active clubs in Iowa, but there are plenty of Iowa nudists. Morrison says people who’ve never tried nudism before are naturally a bit frightened at first. She says it takes about 10 minutes for people to get used to being nude.Morrison says nudism is wonderful recreation and a way of life. She says it’s very relaxing and comfortable as there aren’t the normal status problems when you aren’t wearing clothes.While summertime is a great time to be nude, according to Morrison, winter can pose a challenge. That’s when they plan group trips to warmer climates or indoor events like the Buff Bowling League. The bowlers don’t go fully nude though. They have to wear bowling shoes.
