Airshow to fly over Quad Cities

The booming roar of precision fighter jets will be heard over eastern Iowa this weekend as the U-S Air Force Thunderbirds perform at the Quad Cities Air Show. That military acrobatic team is considered one of the biggest draws in the country according to show spokesman Tom Zwica. Zwica says world champion aerobat Patty Wagstaff will be at this year’s show for the first time. He says there will be all sorts of military and civilian, historic and modern aircraft displayed on the ground and buzzing overhead. There’ll even be bi-planes.While the Thunderbirds are the big attraction, Zwica says there are dozens of other events, exhibits and demonstrations that will hold the attention of the expected thousands of spectators.The gates open at 8 this morning and tomorrow morning at the Davenport Municipal Airport. Showtime is 11 a-m both days. The Thunderbirds are scheduled to fly both today and tomorrow.
