Clinton grad has a shot at putting herself on the Olympic team

A former Clinton High School standout will attempt to make the U-S Olympic team Thursday at the trials in Sacramento, California. Leann Boerema, now throws the shot for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Boerema says making the NCAA meet as a freshman will help her at the Olympic trials.With three years of college ahead, Boerema says she’s got nothing to lose in the trials. She says she’ll be the youngest competitor and have no pressure to succeed.Boerema says her real goal is to make the team in four years.Boerema begins competition tomorrow and hopes to advance to the finals on Friday.
