Former Northern Iowa standout Joey Woody runs his first 400-hurdles at the U-S Olympic trials in Sacramento tonight. It is his second attempt to make the U-S team after failing to qualify in 1996. Woody says the international experience he’s gained the past few years will help him this week.Woody says there’s an art to making it through the qualifying heats without burning yourself out. He says he was too young to know that in 1996. He says he expended too much energy in the first two rounds to make the team.Woody will be looking to qualify for Friday’s semifinal round. The final in the 400-hurdles is Saturday
