The Siouxland Chapter of the American Red Cross in Sioux City is sending an Emergency Response Vehicle or “ERV” to Minnesota to help tornado victims. Chapter Emergency Services Director Earl Belt says the ERV is leaving for Granite Falls, Minnesota this afternoon. Two volunteers, one from Nebraska and one from Iowa, are driving the vehicle to Granite Falls. Reports say 20-percent of the town was destroyed by a twister. Belt says the two women will either deliver food for Red Cross workers and victims or take out specialists to help victims in the field. Belt says the women will stay in Minnesota as long as they’re needed. One person was killed as up to six tornadoes hit South Central Minnesota Tuesday.
