Two Red Cross vehicles from Iowa leave for Montana today to help the state that’s been scorched by wildfires. Marvin Shultz is the Emergency Services Director for the Central Iowa Red Cross. Shultz says they’re sending two ERVs from Cedar Rapids and Des Moines to Montana.ERV stands for emergency response vehicle. He says four Iowans are driving the ERVs to Montana.Shultz says the ERVs will stay in Montana as long as they’re needed to help feed victims and firefighters.He says thousands of acres of Montana have been burned by the wildfires.The Iowa Red Cross vehicles aren’t the only help heading to Montana. Firefighters from Australia and New Zealand are flying in to help, and President Clinton has also sent in U-S soldiers to help weary firefighters.
