Week three of the high school season finds district action heating up. In class 2-A, seventh ranked Sigourney-Keota dropped from the top spot after a loss to Solon last week. Coach Bob Howard says the stakes get much higher tonight, as they open district play at 8th rated West Burlington.Howard says by staying unbeaten a team controls its own destiny in district play and that is why the opener is so important.Howard says last week’s loss to Solon was a perfect example of how mistakes can effect a game.Off to a 2-0 start, fifth ranked Council Bluffs St. Albert opens class 1-A district nine action tonight at home against Logan-Magnolia. Falcon coach Jim Duggan had a number of experienced skill people back from last year’s team that advanced to the quarterfinal round of the class 2-A playoffs.Duggan says the games become more important beginning tonight.Duggan says the Falcons will be playing a number of new teams with the move to 1-A.
