A transitional housing project for women and families in Clinton is in danger of losing federal funding.Victory Gardens was started a few years ago with a 400-thousand dollar federal grant. Now, Uncle Sam is considering cutting off the money because it’s a “religious” project. Victory Gardens director Ray Geminez says the original application made it clear the group was religion-based.Geminez is appealing to the Clinton community for financial support. He calls it a “big fire” they have to put out.
