The legendary M-I-T is teaming up with the Eastern Iowa Community College District. Scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology will work with the District’s Advanced Technology Environmental Education Center. The Center’s director, Dr. Ellen Lensch, says the research will include a focus on the handling of hazardous spills.Lensch says the two-year partnership will provide technology to community college and high school teachers so they can pass it on to their students to better prepare them for the workforce.The partnership is being financed by a 449-thousand dollar grant from the National Science Foundation.
