The Iowa-based “World Food Prize Foundation” hosts a range of world dignitaries next month to talk about the controversies swirling around genetic modification of food. Dr. Kenneth Quinn, president of the World Food Prize Foundation, says his group, though, won’t taking a stand on whether genetic alteration is good or bad. He says they believe it’s important to have enough food to feed the world, but says how that gets done is a matter for scientists and experts in the food area. The forum will be staged October 12th and 13th in Des Moines, and the U-S State Department’s top biotechnology expert will attend, as will officials from Germany, China, Egypt, Kenya, Australia, Denmark and Canada.
