The Iowa-based Maytag Corporation is sponsoring a series of free concerts around the country to tout Maytag appliances which conserve water and electricity. Lisa Buckley is vice president and general manager of Maytag’s laundry category.is in Nashville, Tennessee, today, with Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans and Jennifer Day — the country music stars who’ll be giving the free concerts in Boston, Chicago, Phoenix, Washington, D-C and L-A. Maytag is diverting from traditional advertising means to try to reach potential customers through these free concerts. Maytag’s other partners in this concert tour are Best Buy, the publisher of “Parenting” magazine and the U-S Department of Energy. Buckley says Maytag will have a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade — and the three country stars will be riding it to tout the free concert series.
