The Iowa Hawkeyes will still be in search of their first victory on Saturday when they host Michigan State. The Hawkeyes had a second half comeback fall short in a 45-33 loss to Indiana. In his first start, Jon Beutjer threw for 380-yards and four touchdowns after a shaky first quarter. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, says Beutjer grew during the game. Once again, porous defense hurt Iowa especially on critical downs as the Hoosiers converted seven of 12 on third down. Ferentz says he has confidence the Hawks will continue to make strides. He says they are a young football team that is doing some things better.Beutjer says he gained confidence as the game progressed. He says he was nervous at the beginning, and settled down after the first quarter.
