The cameras are now rolling on a movie being shot in several locations of the Hawkeye State. The film called “Rain” is set in Iowa.Iowa Film Office director Wendol Jarvis says filming on the killer thriller began Monday and will continue for the next five weeks. Martin Scorsese is the executive producer, known for films like “Taxi Driver,” “Raging Bull,” “Goodfellas” and “Casino.” Jarvis says the director and screenplay writer is Katherine Lindberg and she’s the reason the film is being shot in Iowa.Lindberg’s grandparents lived in eastern Iowa and she spent her summers there as a girl. Jarvis says filming is underway today in Benton County. Other locations that will be used are in Marshall County and in or near the towns of Cambridge, Story Center and Boone.Some 250 extras have been hired for the film. The murder/thriller stars Melora Walters, who was in “Magnolia,” “Boogie Nights” and “Dead Poets Society.” Other stars include Jamie Sheridan and Diane Ladd.
