A man who videotaped the actions of a Council Bluffs police officer this summer was arrested by other Council Bluffs cops this weekend — and he wound up with a broken arm. This summer, Paul Holz was taping the actions of a Council Bluffs cop when the cop confronted him — an episode Holz caught on tape. This weekend, cops say they heard a noise in some bushes and ended up chasing Holz, who was riding a bicycle. The cops say when they caught up with Holz, he hit an officer and fled into a nearby house. The officer called for back up and a group of cops entered the house and arrested Holz. Council Bluffs’ Police Chief Keith Mehlin says none of the officers knew who Holz was.Holz has been charged with a host of misdemeanors: resisting arrest, eluding arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer and disobeying an officer. The cops seized the camera Holz had at the time of his arrest, as they say Holz used it to hit an officer. Holz and a cop were hurt in the scuffle. The chief of police says his officers acted appropriately.
