A day of routine training in western Iowa turned into the real thing for a drug-sniffing dog with the Iowa State Highway Patrol. The canine found one million dollars worth of marijuana when officers were training at a U-Haul dealership in Council Bluffs. Sergeant Mike Van Berkum says the dog’s snout led troopers to six large boxes of marijuana in a U-Haul.Nine-hundred-90 pounds of marijuana were found in the trailer.Van Berkum says the pot came from Arizona and was bound for the East Coast.Van Berkum says four people have been charged in the case, including the driver of the u-haul and three people from California.The drugs were found on October 10th, but the patrol didn’t release details of the case until today.
