The best candidate isn’t the only issue Iowa voters will have to decide when they go to the polls November 7th. A question is also on the ballot asking Iowans whether they want to convene a constitutional convention to change the Iowa constitution. Bob Galbraith is a spokesman for Iowa’s Secretary of State says the issue nearly passed the first time it appeared on the ballot in 1970.Every year since, there have been fewer and fewer votes for the convention. Galbraith says the convention issue hasn’t gotten much attention in the upcoming election. The last time Iowans voted for a constitutional convention was in 1920. The legislature ended up taking care of the issue, so the convention was never held.
