Officials have released the names of the north central Iowa teenagers who died yesterday in a car accident on a gravel road north of Clarksville. Officials say 16-year-old Gregory Rottink was driving the car which struck a Clarksville school bus at an uncontrolled intersection. Rottink and his passenger, 17-year-old Dylon Jans, were killed. Both were students at Clarksville High School. The collision caused the bus and the car to roll. Nearly 30 students were aboard the bus. Twenty-two kids and the bus driver were taken to a hospital in Waverly for treatment of minor injuries. Clarksville Superintendent Barry Green says all the students on the bus have been released from the hospital.Green says counselors are on hand at the school today to help students and teachers cope.Last night’s Clarksville/Valley C-E-W football game in the UNI-Dome was postponed, and it will be played tonight in Clarksville. Neither of the teenagers killed in the crash were on the football team.Green says there will be a moment of silence at the beginning of tonight’s game.School in Clarksville will be dismissed early on Monday. A vocal music concert tonight’s been cancelled, and a dance scheduled for tomorrow night has been called off, too.
