President George W. Bush landed in Omaha this afternoon on the first leg of a trip that includes a stop in Council Bluffs. Bush told a crowd of about 35-hundred people in Omaha that he’s glad to be back in the Midwest. Bush has taken to the road to tout his tax cut, and his budget proposals. Bush delivered a formal speech to Congress last night. Bush says education is one of the top priorities in his budget. Bush traveled from Omaha to Council Bluffs where he will be holding a roundtable discussion. It’s Bush’s first visit to Iowa since becoming president, and it’s also the first presidential visit to Council Bluffs since William Howard Taft stopped there in 1911.
