Former Iowa State standout Fred Hoiberg says despite a dismal season the Chicago Bulls can return to their winning ways. Hoiberg played for the Bulls during the just completed season in which they posted a record of 15-and-67. He says there’s a summer of hard work ahead, and they can turn things around pretty quickly with a couple of additions. Hoiberg had to play a new role for the Bulls this past season as a veteran teaching younger guys.Hoiberg says there’s no doubt in his mind Tim Floyd will continue as Chicago’s coach. Marcus Fizer, a former Iowa State standout who played his first N-B-A season with the Bulls, admits the past season was tough.Hoiberg intends to return to Iowa when he retires, but Hoiberg says that day’s not coming anytime soon.Hoiberg and Fizer were in Des Moines today to lend their support to a new, statewide literacy campaign which encourages fathers to read to their kids.Hoiberg says Michael Jordan should return to the Bulls, but won’t. Jordan’s rumored to be practicing for a return to the N-B-A to play for the Washington Wizards, a team Jordan owns a stake in.Hoiberg says Jordan’s return would be a huge boost to the league, and would give younger players who didn’t get to play against Jordan a huge thrill.
