Iowa’s Attorney General is warning of the return of an old scam.Attorney General spokesman Bob Brammer says hundreds of faxes, e-mails and letters are circulating in Iowa trying to get people hooked into what’s called the “Nigeria Letter Scam.” The letters claim the recipient can make millions by helping a Nigerian government official or oil company transfer millions of dollars into the U-S. Brammer says there aren’t any confirmed reports of Iowans being involved in the scam.He says people may be just to embarrassed to admit they were duped, or be afraid they’ve done something illegal. He has this advice if you receive one of the offers, throw it in the garbage.Brammer says you should contact the Attorney General’s office as soon as possible if you believe you’ve been scammed.
